Have seen several console mounted depth finders on tv with various pros that are not flush mounted, I assume to avoid having to lean forward to view while driving. This is something I want to do when I take the plunge shortly but was interested to see what others have done. Any suggestions, pics, or products?? Thanks in advance.

Some have units that are too large to fit in their console. Some have a flush mounted unit and another unit at the console.
The popular mounting method of the non-flush mounted unit is the RAM system. You don't have to be a Pro to mount your unit any way you want to if you have the room.

Just installed a Ram mount with my HB 798. Very nice. Like the ability to move around and it's around 8 inches taller. Also, makes it easier for partner to see the screen.

I like to RAM mount my larger units to the side of the console. It all depends on what you want.
