I know a snell knot works well when using heavy tackle for punching and flipping, but would it also be an effective knot when using a lighter (1/4 oz) Texas rig? Is the smaller weight not heavy enough to make a difference? It seems like it may still help a little bit.
Have any of you tried it? Are there other applications where this knot works?

It works it is the the weight being pulled through the fishes lips which kicks the hook up. I use it for all t-rig baits with weighs as light a tungsten 1/8 oz.

I use it for all TX rigs and Buzz frogs.
