 Finally did some more tying...

Nothing crazy, but found out where this summer's trip is going (Ambergris Caye, Belize!!), so that got me fired up a bit. Got started late, so only got this pair of small marabou clousers and an improved mini crab (no. 8 Gamakatsu bonefish hook). I'll be doing some more serious tying the next couple months and have some neat new materials to do it with.

I dont have one on my phone. I'll take a picture or two when I get back later. It's just some bead chain eyes, green rug yarn, and some feathers I had. Will be making a few more in this color as well as some in a lighter tan/cream color.

OK, Now I get it. For some reason, I just couldn't figure out how the feather "claws" tied in. I have a couple of ponds I fish that have freshwater crabs in them. May have to give these a try for catfish.

Really nice crab flies.
A tip for you crab fly guys if you are interested.
Del Brown of permit and Merkin fly fame, was tying all his Merkin crab flies on 60 degree jig hooks before his passing.

Need to work on my materials organization, but upgraded my tying bench from a TV tray to this...
