After spending over $600 this year on electric knives I decided it was time for a change. Check out this video and you guys might do the same. Ive had lots of people including other guides ask me over the years what we use. Ive tried every known brand I could find. Some knives would last two weeks and some 2 minutes. We were buying 10 knives at a time so we would always have a working knife. Some people would just return them when they stopped working but that wasnt the solution to our problem. After a little practice I found I could clean fish just as quick or quicker with a Bubba Blade.

Great video

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I'm taking your word for it, got mine on order. I'm tired of the frustration myself.

Wow, sweet! The best part is no need for electricity, which means you can clean fish anywhere! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Chuck. Just talked to Mrs. Claus and ordering one of these babies! Have cleaned thousands of fish myself and go through 4-5 electric knives a year. I went to their web site and will order from there:

Found a video on sharpening them also and it looks like a breeze as far as upkeep. Curious how often are you having to sharpen your knives? Happy Fishing...

Are you affiliated in any way to the knife manufacturer?

Chuck, great demo video. How do you sharpen, how often do you sharpen and how long does it take to sharpen?

I hit the blade on a ceramic steel or stone for about 1 minute every 25 fish or so. I like the knife sharp enough to shave. If its not sharp it won't work nearly as good. After about 2000 fish I then resurface the edge on the blade. This can be done on a rough stone and then a fine stone. This new edge can be done in about 20 min.

Been thinking about getting one for a while now. What blade do you find is the best for filleting, the 9" Stiffie or the Flex? Which one are you using in the video?
