Hey Guys, sorry for 3 posts in this forum today! Not meaning to clutter, but did have 3 unrelated electronics questions.

Anyway, I have an 898c and a 997c HB unit and it seems when I step on the trolling motor I notice vertical bars being drawn into the graph, once I stop accelerating it goes away. This is annoying when spooning a ledge deep as I need to make small adjustments forward/backward on TM constantly to stay in position and the Graph has a zillion vertical bars for every time I step on TM.

Is this some issue or just normal? How can I fix if it IS a problem?

Lastly, what would be an 'ideal' setting in Sonar mode to see my spoon bounce up and down off the bottom? I'm able to see the fish clearly on screen but not follow my lure like a video game, and was hoping to be able to see fish move up and down 'streak' as well the lure. I tried Sensitivity 14 and after 14 it started getting too cluttered. I had the speed setting on 4. Any ideas/thoughts are much appreciated!

Wayne is a great help with interference questions and interference is what you are seeing. It comes from your TM and I'm betting you have the transducer cable too close to the TM, probably run down the power cable to the TM head?
The best way to correct the problem is to move the cable away from the TM. I fought this issue and tried everything suggested by Wayne and HB support. Somethings seemed to help but, I didn't completely resolve the problem till I totally seperated the transducer cable from the TM.
I'm even looking into a separate mount for the transducer and trying different things till I get it right. Once I do, I'll share it with anyone interested.

Thank You. This was Very useful to understand how to interpret it all. Does anyone have good 'settings' recommendations for fishing vertical schools and structure?
