I got a soldier coming in for 2 weeks for Christmas and wants to catch some bass. Ive taken him many times at night on Fork to hit the lights, but never in the winter time. He wants to go hit them.
Question:
Do the fish get on the underwater lights in the winter?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Craig

Just depends on if the bait is there of not. That depends on a few things....like the weather and the water temperature. Your best bet would be the lights in deeper water where a creek channel is close by. I know of a couple dozen or so lights and only 3 meet that criteria. Good Luck!!

If they don't turn them off on you. Took a cousin of mine out the other night, it was just us two doing no harm, one of the guys came out and started fishing the lights too. So out of respect and understanding he put those lights out there I backed off and just fished one light to let him fish whatever ones he wanted to. They fished for like 10 minutes, they went in. Next thing I notice all the lights turn off!Oh well maybe it was just me..

Neil, did you guys see any fish?
I have a feeling I know where you guys were.
I actually own a light, and would give it to anyone that would put it out. I dont have a pier on the lake.
Im from South La, so if I dont take him up there, we going to Venice...
Just trying to get a little info before I make my decision.
Thanks

Yea they had fish on them for sure! It was very active, but it was the last warm night we had, so I do not know what the cold made them do. And they were the ones out close to a deep creek.

Get guide Jmes Henderson to take you out. He knows every light on the lake and is a great night fisherman. 214-864-2469

They guy wants to night fish the lights, so I guess we will.
He's leaving for Afghan for 14 months in a few months, so if he wants to go, I guess we go!
Im not worried about the pressure, if he can see some fish, he'll be happy.
