I know this got brought up once before, but how about a subforum so folks can talk about trout in relative peace? They are still freshwater fish as far as I know. I figure that from spring through fall, there are plenty of threads about trout in other states. By fall, people are starting to talk about trout in TX. I could see it getting as much traffic as the SW forum.

People should be able to post/read an honest thread about trout fishing without having to sift through the drivel generated by folks who just cannot seem to get over it. It's just gotten old and some of these posts that ruin a perfectly good thread are starting to piss me off a little.

Sorry to go off a bit but I think it's out of line for people to keep crapping on other people's threads when they obviously don't even participate in the activity they're commenting on. Sure it won't completely fix it, but maybe it will be less tempting for those who cannot exercise self control.

Sounds like a great idea with all the negative comments about the trout. If the state regulates they must be an important gamefish!

Preast, I heartily agree. I've already been in touch with moderators about some of the haters who just have to hate. It certainly ruins it for the rest of us.

These users are acting as trolls. They crave attention for their rants. By completely ignoring them (and moderators deleting their excessively deleterious posts) they eventually give up and toe the line or simply vanish and go off looking for another site to troll.

Still, a seasonal trout thread is not a bad idea.

It sounds like a great idea but the put downs go full circle on this board. Trout fisher to trout fisher, trout fisher to non trout fisher and non trout fisher to trout fisher. People should just respect everyones style and their species they fish for on here. It's a fishing forum and not a contest. They obviously have self issues. This board is here for people to help each other out and pass on knowledge to each other rather than be critics and spew hate to others. Those people do nothing for the sport and make themselves look like fools on here. It sounds like a great idea to have a trout section but then why not give every fish species their own forum section during their seasons. I think people need to just grow up and respect the rules of the forum or people should just start reporting them so the moderators can start banning them.
