Was on the lake this weekend and noticed that the marina on Robinson road (not sure of the exact name) has been torn down and moved. Why in the world would the controlling authorities let them dump all the broken up concrete off the little retaining wall/jetty with all of that rebar in it?

I know there was already a little bit of it from when they built the jetty out of the hwy dividers, but this is completely crazy. There are pieces of rebar sticking off the wall 6-8 in some areas where its been pushed off the sides and into the water. When the water comes back up, its going to do some serious fiberglass damage! That and the one piece of pipe they left from where the marina was that is 4 out of the water right now.

The city should make them go back and clean all the plastic and metal up before it causes thousands of dollars worth of damage or injuries from anyone swimming in that area.

On a separate note: How many freaking throw nets are on the bottom of that lake??

I wished I would have snapped a couple of picturs while I was out there. It's seriously horrible.

Are you talking about the little marina north of 30 or the one on Robertson Park south xxxxxx?

BTW...welcome to one of the most trashed lakes around. Urban fishing at it worst.

I mean south of 30

There is supposedly one guy who owns three marinas. The story is that he is well..... Let's say frugal.

He moved the old docks over to one of his other properties to maximize profits and supposedly left the old property in Rowlett pretty trashed.

I don't fish over there so I have no idea but you aren't the first to have commented on what a hazard that place has become.

I think that area would be great to fish with the old sunken brush piles but it seems risky from what I'm hearing.

Those guys who fish these type of areas out there have seen lots of this sort of stuff when the water gets down.Yes you can hurt your boat. You just have to know to give it plenty of clearence when you fish that type of trash.

Dalrock marina was torn down and all the old boat slips are being stored at bayview marina. The crappie barge was moved to harbor bay marina. The old slips are nothing but junk and are blocking off the cove around bayview. Most of it is not fishable from the bank and limited from a boat. The owner of bayview owns harbor bay, dalrock and marina del ray on rowlett rd. and had it torn down.

The city of Dallas would not rent the land to him, there making it in a park and put all the old junk in the marina. All the slips are busted and no good should have sank them would have been better off

Im fine with them moving the slips and crappie house, but dumping all the construction matearials/refuse into the water shouldn't be allowed. Were not just talking a couple of odd end of rebar sticking up, its more like hundreds.

The old Marina Del Ray was closed a couple years back and all the slips and anything that they could float was moved to the old Lakeside marina and the city did not renew their lease a month or so ago, and the owners moved all that junk to Bayview. The guy owns both of them as well as one more marina. As Jackson said he is rumored to be rather "frugal". Not sure what they plan to do with all those broken down docks, I worked at Marina Del Ray as a kid, that was in the early 80's, and all those docks were junk then.

As for the break walls, they have been like that for years, you need to be cautious around any of the rock break walls on all the marinas on the lake. They all have a lot of rebar around them.

I was just driving past there today and saw 2 rescue boats with what looked like about 6 rescue workers in each at the boat ramp. as i was looking i noticed what looked like big re-bar sticking out of the water and thought it looked wierd. I dont get over that way much but was pretty sure something was differant. It all makes sence now. Except for the rescue boats still not sure what they were doing. Seems like a crappy day for rescue training
