It seems like to me this year there has been a HUGE population of Barfish, more so than the past couple of years. The shad have been more than abundant....to say the least, and we have already seen a lot of really big fish. With the amount of big forage I can't see how I'll be wrong with this, I'm predicting we'll see a few fish in the heavy 13-15lb range this Jan-Mar, we've already seen a 13+ caught and a few 12's. I could be wrong, just an observation of mine. Fork is really good right now and I think we are fixing to have an incredible winter & spring. Talking with some other guides, I don't think I'm alone in this assumption. What do y'all think?

I could not agree more. I do not get to see the big fish that you guides do but at my weigh ins I have been witness to some incredibly healthy looking 14 1/2 to 15 1/2 inch bass. Some of the fish are carrying impressive weights for their length and have the body development that makes for future giants. Also I believe last months TFF cover photo showed a very healthy 15 1/2 pound fish that tried to steal a crappie that was being reeled in. Yesterday while fishing for crappie we witnessed bass schooling on shad off of a point. Needless to say we put down the crappie poles and pulled up and caught about a dozen of these hard feeding fish. Schooling bass in December was a new one for me.

This is great news.
Does this mean the Fork Guide posse will remain at Fork all winter and not relocate to Falcon?

I recenty heard of a fish that appeared to be 14+ that was lost at the boat recently and I heard from a reliable source.
I agree Ronnie, I think there will be some Toads caught this winter!

I agree--totally I will do my part to help prove this prediction correct. A water rise at the right time could make the place off the hook this spring.
