Ive been doing my homework about pins for a long time. I finally have a window to be able to go and I feel confident in my prep work for such a journey. I am in north texas is why this is such a big deal. My question is when is the best time to go and be able to catch fish? I dont wanna be there when the sea weed is so bad you cant fish and also would like to avoid the chocolate water so to speak. Please help a brother out and give me your opinions. Thanks.

Nope I just gave him some other fourms that are more geared towards the salt/beach fishing, I did not want to p@#$ anybody off by putting links to other fourms. Here they are

Padre International Seashore is the border island from Corpus Christi south, a federal park. I have seen reports of good yak fishing on the back side in the bay, but you need serious intel and 4 wheel drive to do it safely. Most folks start out by fishing the surf side and venture into the dunes after they are seasoned or they go with someone that has already aquired the knowledge. There is a guide that takes people down the island.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

You bet I have friends that go out past the last breakers and catch alot of fish, I did it one time and its not for me. We use the yaks to run out shark baits If you have never been its alot of fun for some folks others hate it

Murdock----- Look at the tide charts. Seems high tides have been better. 4 wheel drive is a must most of the time but have seen 2 wheel good driving to 25mm (reports) Look for bird act.and bait in 1st and 2nd gut. Cut ladyfish and finger mullet (when you can find them)best bait for Bull Reds and Black drum. Water is pretty cool now (69-70) but very little weed. Weed in the summer can be very tough !! Good reports on Cobia in the last few weeks off the beach ! The front that hit N. Tx will be here about 4 Monday morning !! Good luck
