Awesome bugged eyed fatty!! I would love to catch one and enroll it in the Share Lunker program, but thats me. I totally support an angler if he wants to let it go. He caught it and he should choose where it goes. Fish of a lifetime!!

Nice Fish!!
I started to post a response to those that feel the need to call this guy out on his fish handling................ It's not even worth the effort.

I'm confused. Why would you not "donate" it? Because the best chance of survival and reproduction, for the fish,is to immediately release the fish.

Don't turn this into a sharelunker debate thread. Some people support it, some people do not.
Either way, hell of a fish.

Great fish! Years back I caught a 10.88#. Bill Kells at Rainswood Marina was very good about educating me and others about handling of "Big fish"! I remember "Do not hold fish by lip only, can break or dislocate it= Dead fish!!" I believe what Transplant is trying to point out is that "experts" say that it is best to hold the fish differently. I don't think he was criticizing this lucky fella, but passing along some information to those who maybe haven't heard that many "experts" support holding the fish in two places. It would sure be a shame to go through the exercise of releasing her to increase her chance of survival.....passing up on sharelunker fame.....but inadvertently killing her with a camera. http://www.ets-systems.com/lakefork/services/images2/bass_h2.jpg
GO -------> "Spit in his mouth, Son. It will make him grow bigger faster" My late grandfather Bill Chapman (and former lake patrolman at Lake Tyler, TX) I have spent the past 50 years spitting in their mouths...increasing the size of Texas fish with every spit!
