Seeing all the great reports on forks deep water bite has me excited!!! But not to much credit going to the shallow bite?! If you find some hydrilla for a morning at fork tomorrow, what would you throw??

we went today and could not find anything shallow, and wound up fishing deep with spoons with varied success.

Fork wore us out today. Only ended with 7 biggest going 2lbs.. It was crowded with crappie fisherman and ppl throwing spoons.. I didn't have a flutter spoon so maybe that's why my results were poor.

Dropshot was the bait today in 18 to 24 ft, couldn't get them to eat the spoon. I fish it on a 7ft G-Loomis spinning reel 3/8 oz dropshot weight on 10lb Seagar Fluro, was throwing a motor-oil chartruse tail Zoom Finesse Worm.

One other thing you might try, with the cloud cover the deep bite can be sporadic. When this happens I spend more time working creeks and ditches with a black brown jig flipping timber. Bites can come from 2 to 20+ but you can rack some numbers doing it with a lot of quality fish.

Wish I would have gone shallow with the hard jerk-bait, you don't see a whole lot of people doing that anymore, something to think about! A different presentation, suspending jerkbaits have a way of irritating the hell out of them into striking!
