Me and a buddy are thinking about fishing Grapevine tonight and were looking at Katie's Woods. Is nightfishing allowed? Campfires?

Caught some bait already, just trying to figure out where we're going to fish.

Thanks.

I wouldn't do a campfire at katies woods but night fishing is definitely ok

yeah you can night fish in katies woods. I've seen people build fires, and the cops didn't care, but there may be a burn ban now?

yes, nightfishing is no problem.

the burn ban was lifted 08/29/2012 - so you are good to go.

the police may come through, but as long as you don't have any open containers and aren't acting afool - they mosey right along.

good luck! smile

Was at a park in Grapevine and they told me the burn ban is back on so I would not do a fire good luck. That was like 2 days ago when they told me about the burn ban.

Thanks for the fire tips. And 13ankin_it thanks for the info! We'll make sure to keep it updated if we catch any fish. Grapevine has whooped me on my last few trips.

googled it and it appears that there is a new burn ban. Shouldn't be all that cold tonight, tomorrow night would be another story..

yes, it is. if there isn't a metal one - build it with rocks - like making a little fish corral for keepers smile

13ankin_it.....that was the other spot we were thinking about going to tonight. We've been out there a few times lately, just needed a change of scenery. Keep us updated.

When a burn ban exists take a cheap Walmart charcoal grill. Cooking fires are allowed in burn bans. Cook a hot dog or something and then stoke up the fire for heat. If you're just looking for something to warm up your hands a good lantern cant be beat.
