 Finally got out flounder fishing and got my first Texas flounder today!

I finally got the chance to get out and do some flounder fishing today. Went to roll over pass and used live mullet and berkley gulp shrimp. Caught one 19 inch flounder and got bites all day. Lost 3 others but was happy with catching just one. Missed a redfish due to talking to people and casted some flies out. Actually caught 2 large crabs on flies lol! Had a lot of fun just getting out and trying out new gear I have been waitting to use. Took my first Texas flounder home, baked it up and ate it tonight with the wife. Tasted great! It was a great day and met some nice people while fishing. Tight lines, Ricky V.

Congrats, this is my second year to fish salt water and my first year to catch flounder. My wife and i have had a blast at sabine lake! and yep they are some good eaten. my biggest so far was 25" and it was ameal for two!

Thanks guys. Going back tomorrow with my buddy for round two. Congrats sktr300zx on the 25" flounder. That's a really big one. I hope I can get one over 20 inches tomorrow.

.....Rick...you fishing with a boat or off the bank? Shoot me a PM with some contact info and I'll turn you on to the "Getting Spot"! Looked at some pics on my buddies phone earlier this evening down in Bayou Vista and he had me crying...ALMOST!
Three 28+ inchers that all were over seven pounds plus and he caught them where I told him about the spot.
He had to rub it in of course!
...so good it tastes like it died screaming!
