As a North Texas Director I feel like I should let you guys know whats going on and this is the easiest way to reach the masses.

As most of you know my wife is pregnant and she is in her 25th week. Yesterday morning she was admitted to Harris hospital in the high risk pregnancy unit because the amniotic fluid around the baby is low. They aren't sure if her water has prematurely ruptured or not yet, but she is under constant supervision as high risk. Her and the baby are both doing very well and nothing is out of the usual, but with low amniotic fluid the baby can compress the umbilical chord and basically suffocate himself...she will more than likely be in the hospital for the remainder of the pregnancy ( about 12-15 weeks) as precautionary measures.

What does this mean?

It means, I will spend every waking moment outside of work beside my wife doing as much as I possibly can for her. I will not be able to be as committed to the WCC position right now as I normally am which will probably lead to me stepping down. As of right now, she is on a week to week basis until they can find out more, and I will keep you guys informed.

A little update....


Basically, they think here water has a high leak on it, so when the amniotic fluid gets to a certain level it begins to leak. More thank likely the baby did this from the inside.

Last night they started and IV with antibiotics and steroids to help the baby develop. They will continue to monitor my wife and the baby over the next two weeks to see what happens. If the tear is small enough it will close and bring her fluid levels back up. That means she will be able to come home on bed rest. All the tests they have been doing to see if there is amniotic fluid have come back negative so that is a good thing but its better to take ever precaution as possible.

Thank you everyone for all the kind words and prayers and I will most definitely pass them on to my wife as she knows quit a few of you.


On another hand, I learned something funny yesterday....

A baby will sometimes grab a hold of the umbilical chord in the womb and squeeze it which will make him pass out and let go of it. They don't know why a baby does it but it is very common during pregnancy.
