Anyone been out to the Grasslands lately? Headed out on Sunday morning. Not sure which lake yet. Been reading that Rhodes, Cottonwood & Black Creek (in that order) are pretty good. Heard clear lake has been tough. Last i've been was in June and only tried Cottonwood & Clear Lake. Caught quite a few in Cottonwood, but nothing of great size. Clear Lake seemed a bit slower bite.

Any tips, advice is appreciated.

Rhodes was always my favorite, but it has been in really bad shape. Very low water.

Went to Rhodes just before Thanksgiving and it was very low. Caught a few small ones but that was it.

How big are the three mentioned lakes? Have never been to any of them. Are they easy to access?

Easy to access once you find them. If you've never been to the Grassland, a map is necessary. Not sure of the exact size, but I would estimate in the 25 to 35 acre range. Very secluded, you may have the whole place to yourself when you go.
Overall, very nice place to get away from the city a wet the yak.

Here's a pic:

I have fished clear, black creek, and cottonwood lake. Biggest fish came out of cottonwood, and I have seen a buddy pull a big one out of Clear. Both he and I were broke off at black creek, fish we both think would have gone bigger. I have had the best luck at overall at Black creek.

I have never been to Rhodes, I would like to go check that one out. But I also have heard it's really low.

the time I went to AC it was launching from the south side of the lake. I can say this that lake gets deep fast over there.
