Has anyone ever deep fried a chicken in a Turkey fryer? What did you do? How did it turn out? I've done a few turkeys but I would like to try a chicken. Any tips would be appreciated.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Go for it, and let us know how it turns out. Since it takes so much oil, I would probably try frying two at the same time.

We do it at work every year. Just did 26 last Wednesday along with 4 turkeys. Inject like the turkeys, sprinkle with your favorite rub seasoning, and fry 2 or 3 per batch depending on weight. Like them much better than a stringy turkey.

Do it a lot, they are awesome, better than a turkey IMO

they take a little longer than you would think! years back when me and a buddy first tried it, we were always getting raw meat between the thighs and breast. we kept telling ourselves, no way a 5 pound chicken needs to cook that long, but yup, give it time, let it cook and it is soooooo dang good. we would each eat a whole chicken. also, give cornish game hens a try, mini chickens! one more thing - on super bowl everyone wanted wings, i went to the store, sold out of both kinds so i bought a giant pack of thighs and legs and busted out the turkey fryer, fried them up in that and it turned out awesome.

Do it every year. Almost makes the price of peanut oil bearable. As said above, just season/rub as you wish and drop em. Bout 3min per pound.
Fork 'em 😈

I'm with cocodrie on this one. They're good, but you'll be surprised how long they take to get done. I don't know why.

I did a pork loin last year along with two turkeys. Inject, rub and drop. Really good!
