I am about to get a new depth finder on my bass boat. I do not need anything real fancy. I really only need depth and water temp. Are there big differences in brands?

No, you have lots of choices among several brands.
Visit a place that has them on display to see which suits your needs and wallet.

I just need one that gives a decent picture of the floor of the lake, temp of the water and depth. Not looking to spend a crazy amount maybe 200 or so. Anything that matches that?

Some in that price range or less from the Bass Pro catalog:
Humminbird 561
Humminbird 570
Humminbird PiranhaMAX 190c
Humminbird PiranhaMAX 170
Humminbird PiranhaMAX 150
Garmin Echo 300c
Garmin Echo 200
Garmin Echo 150
Garnim Echo 100
Lowrance Elite 4X DSI
Lowrance Elite 4X
Lowrance Mark 4 Combo
Lowrance X4

With some creative shopping, you can get a higher end model of some of those within your price range. Shut-Up-and-Fish can help you with that.

The Piranha Max and 300 Series Humminbird are other options that may cost you less.

A Fish Finder can be your best friend might look at the DI Units since they display picture like images and can really help if your looking for fish. If not Humminbird has great 2D Sonar and follow the bottom good too!
