Headed home on leave, haven't been home in several years. Any good spots within in hour or so to get a few tight lines? Don't really care what my buddies and I catch. Just looking for some fish

Hey Phoenix7. Thanks for your service! There are actually some pretty decent spots around Buerleson. Baily park on hidden creek parkway has a pond that offers some catfish and bluegills. maybe a bass or two. The creek behind it (google maps is your friend) also has some potental. Then there is the community pond in Keene. It has all of the above is is pretty accesable too. Lake Pat Cleaburn has lots of bank area around the dam to fish and the Nolan feeder under 67 is also a nice spot for winter time crappie. Lastly there is a pond in the mountain creek subdivision east of the golf course off 174 that is stocked with lots of fish. My buddy and I used to go back there and catch bream and then put them on a bigg hook under a bigger bobber and chunk em into the middle of the north golfcourse pond. We would catch some monster catfish that way!!! You can only do that on Mondays when the groundskeeper is off though. I also heard that the cops are now rousting people who fish the golf course ponds. show em your "green" card and you should be golden though! Both those ponds have big bass that love a pearl fluke on a texas rig!
