Rules:
The contest will start on Saturday December 1, 2012 and will end Monday 8:00 P.M. December 31, 2012. This is a free contest and open to all Anglers. Anglers fish at their own risk and the contest is not responsible for any of the actions a Angler takes.

#1. All fish must be caught in public waters located in the state of Texas. Any type of bait can be used.
#2. The target fish is any of the six Sunfish as described by the Texas Parks&Wildlife Department fresh water species section. They are the Redear,Redbreast,Bluegill,Green,Longear,and Warmouth.
#3.All fish must be caught using a Rod&Reel or Fly Rod.
#4.All entries must be posted on this thread. All entries must have the contest word inside their photos next to their catch.
#5.The longest fish by length will win the contest. Each entry must be on or by a clearly marked measuring tape or ruler. The length must be clearly seen by all. Make sure that both numbers and measuring lines can be clearly seen.
#6.The length will be rounded to the nearest quarter of an inch just like in all the past contest. Example. A 5.12" fish will be 5" while a 5.13" fish will be 5.25".
#7. Each entry must contain a clear picture of the fish, a ruler or measuring tape must either be on or next to the fish clearly showing it's length,contest word inside picture, a brief report on the catch such as type of water body where fish was caught (Naming optional),type of bait used,and anything else of interest the angler wishes to say.
#8.Since this is a totally free contest any disputes will be handled by one person only and his or hers ruling will be final. Remember the Honor System plays a very important part.
#9.All laws in the Texas Penal Code along with the Texas Parks&Wildlife will be followed at all times. Again the contest is not responsible for any of the Anglers actions.
#10.Junior angler is 10 years of age to 16 years of age. A child angler is 9 years of age or younger. A child or any angler who needs to be supervised by an adult must be supervised at all time by a parent or guardian. A U.S. Coast Guard Approved floating device must be worn at all times by Child Anglers or those who need supervision.
#11. Junior Anglers can take part in the Bonus Fish Rounds. Child anglers will have their own separate bonus rounds.
#12. Prizes will be awarded to the top five places in both the adult and junior division. Gift Cards from Acadamey Sports And Outdoors will be awarded. The prizes are as followed. Adult; First place $25.00. Second Place $7.00. Third Place $5.00. Fourth Place $5.00. Fifth Place $5.00. Junior Division: First Place $10.00. Second Place $6.00. Third Place $5.00. Fourth Place $5.00. Fifth Place $5.00.
#13. First posting gets the tie breaker and this will reflect in the current standings.
#14. In the event of a tie in the adult division a sudden death fish off will take place. Sudden death rules and a new contest word will be posted.
#15. All prizes will be sent out within two full weeks after the completion of the contest.
#16. "Laker One" will be keeping up with the current standings.

Bonus Fish:
#1. A Bonus Fish will alert will be posted on all Bonus Fish Rounds. All of the above rules apply when necessary.
#2. A Bonus word will be added to each round and this word must be inside the picture when entered. The contest word does not have to be present in Bonus Fish Entries.
#3. All Bonus Fish entries must be posted on this thread.
#4. A target fish will be included in the alert. All Bonus fish must have a minimum length of 7" to qualify unless stated differently in the alert.
#5. Entries must be clear and next to a measuring device so that the length can be clearly seen by all.
#6. A five dollar gift card from Acadamey Sports&Outdoors, Gift Certificates from Lunker Life Custom Tackle, or Berkley Bait packs will be awarded to all bonus fish winners. Bonus Fish winners will posted on the standing page of the contest.

Big Fish Awards:

#1. The Angler with the longest caught/entered Sunfish at the end of the year will receive a Ultra Light Combo. Big Fish Award leaders are posted on the standings page of the contest.
#2. The three Big Fish Awards are. #1. Longest Sunfish Adult Division. #2. Longest Sunfish Junior Division. #3. Longest Bluegill Adult Division.
#3. In the event of a tie either adult or junior a Sudden Death Fish Off will take place with Sudden death Rules being posted.
#4. All Big Fish Awards must be contest fish.

Angler of the year: The Angler who has the most contest wins at the end of the year will be the Angler of the Year. A combination fly/rod-reel travel set donated by TFF Angler Tony C. of Houston TX will be awarded.


December is going to put the angler's skills to a challenge. Winter patterns will be setting in. Fish will be in deeper water and not as active. Remember patients will be a important factor. Take advantage of the warm spells. Enjoy the outdoors and lets have some fun catching a very simple fish.

WOW December is almost here! Where did the time go. This will be the last contest of 2012! These have been a blast to watch and to help out in. Hopefully that HUGE 14" Redear can get caught this month. It seems that the bigger fish get caught during the winter months.



Side Note: Keep a eye open for the first Bonus Fish Round! Got a feeling it will be posted right around when "Banker" puts up the contest word. Who knows!

My daughter and I had a blast with the November tourney. Thank you Banker and Laker One for running this. The time I get with my girl is limited due to her sports activities, but thanks to you guys and her competitiveness she wants to get out and fish more. Looking forward to December and hopefully it continues to stay warm up here in North Texas so we have a chance against you guys in the South. Best of luck to everyone and have fun. I know we will.

Bonus Fish Alert: Bonus Fish Week #1 is a Trophy Redear Sunfish. Bonus word is "ICE". First angler to catch and post a Redear Sunfish that is 10" or longer wins. (NOTE) If both the contest word and the bonus word are in the photo then the fish can count in the standings. If only the bonus word is present than a bonus win only will be credited.


Bonus Fish Kids Alert: Bonus kids fish is the Bluegill. Bonus word is "TREE". First child 9 years of age or younger that catches and post a Bluegill that is 7" or longer wins. Remember the rules that involve a child. Safety first!

Rebecca caught this redbreast and redear on Dunlap with worms for the junior division.

Nice Fishing "USMC_GY" and Rebecca. What a way to kick off the December Contest with three Trophy Fish. "USMC_GY'S" 12" Redear will not only win him a Bonus Fish Round it will also land him in first place in the adult division.


Rebecca's 11" Redbreast will place second in the junior division while her 11.75" Redear will place first in the junior division.

Highlights:

12-1-12: "USMC_GY" and Rebecca kick off the contest with three trophy fish. Both Anglers take an early first place lead in both the Adult and Junior Divisions. "USMC_GY" nails down a bonus fish win.
12-5-12:. "Mperkins17" takes over first place in the adult division. "Rionator" gets three Trophy Fish on the adult board.
12-7-12: "USMC_GY" wins the Bonus Bass Round.
12-9-12: Roberto wins a bonus round and also takes over third place in the adult division.
12-14-12: "ChugR" nails down the Bonus Rainbow Trout Round.
