My son and are going to fish our first fishing tourney this week end and my boat does not have a livewell.I do have a large 120qt ice chest and was planning on placing a aeriator that just produces bubbles. Will this work or do i need one that will circulate water.

Dicky, get you some water bottles and freeze them to help keep the water cool. Hot water is the worst thing you can do to bass in a live well. You need to have a good aeration system also. Academy sells a Ice chest aeration system. It sells for 25-30 dollars and will connect to a 12V battery.

You really need circulation which will create bubbles as well. I'd invest in that aerator to circulate the water. As the weather gets hot, adding the ice will also help. I have even gotten where I will lay my lifejackets over the livewell doors to keep the sun from heating them up as much. You will have to do something to keep the water from heating up or the fish will be toast.

Glad to have taken..."the trash in the back!"
