You either do it this way or loose fish like i did as a noob.the edge of the formed wire will destroy your line, especially mono.

depends how and where your fishing, a lot of UK waters don't allow braid main line, my standard line in the UK is 12lb mono, you can catch 40lb carp easily enough on that if you play them right .. i use 15lb braid for hooklinks if i an using bottom baits and want a soft hair / hookling, for popped up baits / chod rigs, use a very stiff specialist mono hooklink. Most Eurpopean waters only let you use barbless hooks as well, which makes playing the fish slightly more complicated.
In Canada on the St Lawrence due to the rocks and mussels i tend to use 50lb fireline braid as the hooklink, its very stiff and gives great presentation with popped up baits, works great with 360 rigs as well.

Coming to fish Austin in Feb, have a few new rig variations to try out, no doubt some will be a disaster, but until we get a better understanding of how Buffs feed its try everything, we'll have 9 rods out between us so we should have most things covered, bringing the 'big sticks' out, so there will be a few 4/5 oz stick mixes out at over 100 yards. have a suspicion the 360 deg rig using an Arma long shank curved hook will be the winner though.

In his defense the post was pointless to begin with....we are constantly trolled...
Why keep promoting it...
No offense Chad but this thread should have been removed when it went up

The mods need to step it up in this section or get some people in here that will.

Too much harrassment going unchecked and its out of control
.

I do keep an eye on this section and help out when I can. But.....

You guys can help too. Some of y'all need to learn to be thick skinned and ignor the silly trolling bs and humor that sometimes gets posted and let us take care of it if need be. Some of you guys are your own worst enemys. There are no trolls without troll bait. wink
