Alan Henry gets my vote hands down. I have fished it multiple times a month for four years straight now and I still get skunked sometimes. The only thing that keeps me going back all the time is that occasional giant you catch that makes it all worth it. My next 4 lakes are OH Ivie, Conroe, Rayburn (trying to catch anything over 10"), and Caddo at times.

Richland Chambers is the only lake that has skunked me every time I go. I think there is a curse on that place!

You guys talking about how tough the lakes are in the DFW area need to head down to Houston to fish Texana and Houston.

For those that have trouble with Alan Henry, drop me a line or take me with you. I hvae been VERY lucky on that lake, haven't zeroed at all, even when fishing from the bank. Of course, I still need to get the video tapes put into DVD form and plots locations so I can sell the DVD. I filmed the lake at 20', 30', 41' and 52 or 53' depths (same GPS location, deepedst part of the lake I found). Looks like there would be quite a demand for it. My uncle used to own Gobbler Creek and I have ridden horses all over the lake. I know where 10 tank dams and 28 springs are located, so, I guess I just get LUCKY at that lake a lot. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

When was the last time you went to Amistad? I guess it proably isnt one of the crappiest lakes, but why drive more than an hour or so to fish it. Look at the tourney results over the last few yrs. You can catch a better sack at a lake within in hour of you. Guranteed!

Houston's good for numbers of small fish, that's about it.

1000's of 10" fish!!!!!

I get my butt kicked more on Conroe than Houston, never blank on houston

If I am not catching keepers I consider that getting my button kicked. Conroe has its tough days but it puts out too many big stringers for me to put it on the list.
