Since y'all are doing two of my favorite routes anyway, how about this one?

What's there to see and do and eat out thataway? I've got a few.

We all know the Koffee Kup in Hico. Pies are good, but that's all that I care for from there. Otherwise the food is rather greasy in my opinion.

Dutchman's Hidden Valley just a little north of Hamilton.

I've yet to stop at a bad place for barbecue on that route, and I'm normally looking for and craving it. Of course, Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls - unfortunately I have yet to stop there cause I always have the dogs.

There was a tiny little hole in the wall joint in Marble Falls that we stopped at this past weekend... white building, with an old wooden screen door. Open pit barbecue. Man that was good and I can't remember the name of it. Brisket was tender and very juicy. Turkey sausage needed help... it was spiced perfectly, but it was turkey so it was dry. Their sauce left something to be desired. You could tell it was homemade and they hadn't perfected the recipe just yet. A little heavy on the tomato sauce.

There's more. I know there's a joint in Johnson City that's got out of this world sausage too, but I didn't see it this time. Its a little red building just north of the turn to go to Pedernales Falls.

The one in Marble Falls was Innman's Ranch House Bar-B-Q. They don't have their own website, so I just linked to a review of them.

The Dutchman has some outstanding sandwiches and a candy bar to die for.

Koffee Kup and the Blubonnet have the best pies I've ever eaten.

There is a Tex Mex restaurant in that same area between Perdnales and Johnson City on the east side of the road. Stopped in just to get a Tex Mex fix and found a menu with about 100 items on it and some of the best food I have eaten. Great place and service. Will look for the name next time down to San Antonio. Love that drive especially since it gets me off of 35.

That does sound like the name but haven't been there since last year so not quite sure. Will be going back down to San Antone first of the year and will make a point to stop back by there and eat.

Storms!!!!!

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

On the main drag in Marble Falls there is Francisco's Italian Restaurant. It's all good, no, it's great. It's on the east side of the road south of the Bluebonnet.
