Need some help with buying the right hook sharpener for my jigs. Preferably for finesse and fb jigs. I have heard that sharpening a jig hook takes away hook strength since hooks are now chemically sharpened.
Any suggestions?

No electric. Too easy to heat up the hook, change its temper and end up with a broken hook.
I use the yellow handled files you can buy at any fishing retailer. File from the bend toward the point, not the other way around. A few swipes on each side of the point should do the trick.

I have a Eze-Lap that is the shape of ball point pen, and just a couple of passes and your good to go.

If you buy toad wrangler jigs those trokars wont need to be sharpened. Richard fished one of his jigs for 7 months and never messed with hook or repainted head. Very durable

go to the hardware store or a good auto parts store and buy a high quality mill file. a 6 inch will do. i sharpen my hooks in a diamond pattern. this gives you four cutting edges. in my opinion and testing, this point will penetrate much easier than a cone point.
