I was out yesterday trying to run my boat a bit. I could not raise my trim less than 3/4 at high speed. Worked fine at idle. Anybody know what might be the problem?

Has it always done this? First time out? I only ask, cuz I've noticed mine does that, but I've been told that's normal. They (on some newer boats) only raise so far when running on plane, but will trim all the way up at idle.

I run a 2010 Nitro Z8. When I asked on this site, somebody gave me a great idea which is trim extenders. They sell them at Bass Pro.

Hope this helps. But, there are WAAYYYYYYY more knowledgeable folks on here than I.

"trim" will only go so far, the tourque of the motor is to strong for the "tilt" to go any higher.

Why did you want to trim I that high anyway????????

They are designed to trim a certain amount and no more. After that the tilt takes over. If you are in the tilt mode and put significant torque on the motor a relief valve activates and the motor will drop back to the high side of the trim. It's a safety feature.

Watch your "Rooster tail". It's not a good thing! Looks cool but your actually getting less bite on your prop. And less water to engine. Could damage it.
