Do you guys know how much wind is to much on texoma? I am putting in a high port but I don't know what the wind acts like at texoma. Some guidance on what wind speed kicks it up or if there is a bad direction for the wind to come from.

Depends on your boat & wind direction. Texoma gets really rough more so than other lakes becaue of its size. I have a 20' bass boat and stay off most lakes if wind is 15+.

If the forecast calls for 10-15 mph winds, add them together for 25 mph winds. It's a big lake, so the waves have a long way to build. It all depends on the size of your boat and your tolerance level.

They are right about adding the wind numbers together. 10-15 usually equals 25. Sad but true...
Right now you can probably catch good fish in protected areas...if the winds outa the south the south shore north and south of highport would be a good place to be and I promise there are plenty of fish there...usually when I'm handicapped by the wind it seems I can't hide from it and still catch fish.....but right now you can.. Even right now if I had to fish down by the dam on a south wind I would be confident to catch fish there..if ya know where you can find protected water there will be fish there

The wind info already stated is right on. I fish a 19' Ranger bass boat out of High Port often and the only wind I won't put in at Highport is the 15+mph North or North west wind. North wind blows right down 6 miles of lake into Highport entrance to main lake. Good luck to you. Be safe.

Which boat ramp is best to launch from for Stripers if you live in downtown Dallas? The hubbard buddies and I we launch at HighPort Marina, Aaron. Just look at the google map at the Highport area and the wind direction. Its pretty protected in the island areas. But we aware some of the island sand bars go way way out so stay very wide and go slow around the points.

Or you can do like me and just jack the motor up to the highest point before cavitation and just run on step in 12" of water I scare folks a little when i do this, but it's not in my nature to slow down in shallow water
