The wind was calm and the crappie were thick. My morning trip started at 7:00am with 3 customers. Our first stop produced about 20 keepers, our second spot produced about 15, our third spot about 40 keepers & by 10:30 we were looking at a full cooler of 75 slabs.

My afternoon trip was just as good. We still had calm waters with no wind. Our first spot produced about 25 keepers, the second stop produced 6-8, then the last spot produced the rest of there 50 fish limit. All this in about 2 hours, not bad at all!

Limits have been fairly common lately on the calmer wind days. However catching 125 keepers in 6 hours is not. That's what keeps us all coming back!

If it was always this easy nobody would need me anymore.

Anyone wanting some good action, we've got some openings. Call anytime!

Wow, very nice Chuck. What do you think this front will do to them? Saturday is supposed to be light winds, I plan to get out & see what I can do.

Bev and I fished for about 3 hours Wednesday morning, caught some real nice crappie...
While we were moving brush pile to brush pile we saw Keith and Bruce, then a few minutes later Chuck and his party came by to say hello and show us what a cooler full of 75 looked like...
A great day to be out and about...
May try it again Saturday.......

Well it started out fine but by 9:30 it was blowing 20 plus. We hit the dock at 10:30 with 34. What a difference the wind makes. Good luck to anyone trying it today.

Caption Chuck,
Any chance the 334 bridge would be worth the drive? Thanks Russell

Chuck, u 'da man!!
Got back home from Turkey Day in Ok with family late yesterday. Matt called and we decided to head out this morning. But, then my wife called to say her car had been stolen and I called Matt to cancel! After an hour or so wife called to say she found her car (with the help of the police) so all is good to go. Left Jigum a PM to see if his invite is still good and waiting to hear back.
Turns out my wife went to WalMart for some Christmas shopping and forgot where her car was. But, the police found it so I don't have to make a trip to Dallas to get her a rental car this morning!
Right now, looks like the weatherman has blown it again. Winds are out of the north about 10-15 already and the sun isn't up yet. Gonna be tough on anyone on the lake this mornin.

They're still biting after the front. We got 50 crappie this morning, with a few yellow bass to add in the mix for flavor. All fish were caught on minnows and jigs, in depths of 9-20ft deep. Our best depth was 13-18ft, with brushpiles and logs being our targeted areas.

I didn't back in time to see Chuck's table full of fish, but judging by his smile, they wore 'em out pretty good. Low winds, bright sunshine, and cool water= lots of fish!

Yea we did well, cleaned about 60 this morning and another 50 this afternoon. It just doesn't get much better for brush pile fishing. This afternoon we limited on two spots. That doesn't happen very often but it sure is relaxing.
I figured you limited this morning judging from the bags of fillets.

Gla you found the car okie.

Minnows?? Or jigs? I lost a few caught a few on cc today jigingI'm new to crappie fishing but felt like minnows would have worked better than jigs today? What's your pro opinion?

I felt like jigs and minnows went neck and neck today.

We started out learning to fish with Jigs. Took some time to get to the point of being able to consistantly catch fish on jigs. For us it is about being able to completely fool the fish into biting. Not as much about how many fish we catch, but the way in which we catch them.

But for guys that can't/don't spend as much time fishing as we can/do. If using minnows increase the number of fish in the boat, I would use them also.
