The picture doesn't show how yellow this fish is. Thought it was a little hybrid until we got her out of the water and saw the yellow. Measured and released her at the ramp. 14.25 inches long but didn't have a scale. Showed it to a couple TTFers and they agreed it was a yellow. Hubbard lake record yellow is 13.50 inches and 1.42 lbs....What might have been!!

Looks like a hybrid yellow. Yellow bass and white bass get funky together and you get what you just caught. Congrats on a nice fish. Tight Lines Mitch "Rooster" Parker

Yessir, it is a hybrid yellow, and a very nice one. TxPacker4 caught one just like that last february when we were out on Hubbard.

I don't think it is a "Hybrid" yellow....Just a really BIG True yellow bass... I caught one about that size at Lake Fork a couple of yrs ago..... couldn't been the new Hubbard record, but.....

Does it get slower later in the day? I went out from 2:30-5 and got only 1 fish. What's other methods during cold weather? I'm still learning and reading different post but once I get out on the water I still sometimes have no luck. This is what I caught today.

Dj Kaos, This time of year can be feast or famine. Sometimes, it's as if magic is happening. Sometimes, it seems impossible to catch fish. Start with " Winter Techniques" and let the fish tell you how they want it. Sometimes, they want it "deadsticked" sometimes, they wanted it faster. Let your graph be the guide. If they are glued to the bottom. Fish SLOW, then fish SLOWER, if they are off the bottom and actively feeding, fish faster. Best of luck Mitch "Rooster" Parker
