I have one on my Coosa and echo 150 on my Cuda 12. I give them a 8 for kayak fishing. Small profile and accurate. Meaning I believe what I'm reading. But I personally am a little old school when it comes to FF. 90% of the time I am looking for drop offs relating to creek/river channels marking fish or not. Now will it mark fish suspended in trees? Yes it will. Pods of shad with fish under them feeding? Yes it will. Since kayaks move at .48 mph all most all FF should be able to keep up, lol. This is just my 2 cents.

.48 mph? hmmm

I've been using an old Humminbird Piranha 1 and it works great for the yak. It's starting to finally act up, but its done the job up to now so the FF should work well for you.

Jason where did you come up with this number? I know that Jackson will move faster then that won it?

Lol Just saying. Ok shall we say .5 to 5 mph. After calculating wind, global and local sea/river/lake currents. If the we have a high cap on our atmosphere from southern winds or Mexican Plume if you will. And not considering if north and South Pole decide to reverse polarity. Then there's the Mayan calendar. Just saying. In fact I have no idea what I'm saying. Lol.

Now as far as Jackson kayaks moving any faster. I've only been beat on the water once. Some guy cheating with them peddles smile Lol

You can spend more money on other fish finders. But if you can find "drop off's,humps,etc..." you will do fine. I'm sure the Echo will do that for ya.
