Santa wants to upgrade my sonars. Thinking about a HB 998si -1198 HD SIcombo for top end . Do I install at dash or trolling motor? If I install at dash, what 2nd unit could I install at trolling motor to show same info to stay on the spot when I leave cockpit to fish at trolling motor? I will basicly be tossing my current sonars, what Units should I be looking for as far as compatiblity without breaking bank? Best Black Friday or Cyber Monday prices? Putting on a 10 year old Tracker that I have completley restored with new seats, trolling motor etc and want to upgrade for structure crappie fishing and deeper hyprid striper schools.

I love have both the same and SIde Imaging at both locations are awesome tool. Because you get SI, DI, 2D Soanr and GPS Mapping.

I run 1198c at console and 998c at the bow.

But you need a 798ci HD, 898c, 998c or 1198c for be able to Ethernet and share transducer and GPS Data.

Might go 898c and 998c and then you can switch since brackets and cable collectors are the same.

That gives me a good idea on where to start. I think I'm ready to start comparing what each model does and price checking. Since this is all new technology from my older fishfinders, can I ask one more question? If I get 2 compatable units, what does does the ethernet cable connection allow me to do? Thank you for your advice! Since these will be big ticket items for Mrs. Claus to be buying, I ll take all the advice you can give me!

Ethernet allows sharing GPS data, sensors, and transducers.
No, it does not share mapping--each unit has to have its own.
