I have some of the other Lew's reels but not that one. Too high priced for my wallet. Like pitchin1 said, I've had nothing but good results from the ones I do have.

I have a Lews Tournament and Tournament Pro as well as multiple Citicas and Curados. I was diehard Shimano for the longest time but find myself enjoying the Tournament Pro more. I plan on switch all my reels to Lews as I can afford it and I don't see why that one wouldn't be even better. Hopefully someone with experience with that particular model will speak up.

I have a few of the above mentioned and I haven't had any problem at all, but they are not as smooth as the tournament pro's.

My Lews Tournament pro started making noise after 3 months hard fishing.

Not sure. Think I will stick with Shimano

I use the Speed Spools and Tournament MGs and they are great reels like them better than my Curado Es.

I can't go back to Shimano. They jacked the curators up when they came out with the new line. If it were me, I would put some ceramic bearing in it and see if that doesn't help with the function.

I haven't tried the Laser but was a diehard Shimano customer for 20+ years. I recently had the majority of my reels being the Curado E's, I purchased the Tournament Pro Speed spools and haven't looked back. I now have 4 of them. Check out Ebay, just bought 3 for $145 each, new!

I have 4 Lew's reels, 3 different models, but not a TL1H. I'm very happy with all my Lew's and I'm certain that if I got a TL1H, I'd be very happy with it too! Lot's of talk about different reels and manufactures on here, but these new generation Lew's are fine products!

Haven't used that model. I have used Lew's products since 1979, including the new ones. I currently own about 12.

I can tell you this; the new ones are great but not as great as the old models. The old ones are built better, stronger and with a faster spool. They will outlast the new ones without a doubt.

I was diehard shimano, i now have 11 of the lew's TP1SH. first casting reel my dad gave me to learn on was a lew's in 1992 it was older than me. you will not be unhappy with any of their reels, i have handled them all in the different price ranges and would have been happy buying any of them.....

OK, My curiosity is peaked now. If there is anyone in the Mid-DFW area that has a Lew's and wouldn't mind letting me tak a few casts with it....I may actually stop buying Pro Qualifiers. They feel pretty sweet in the hand but it would also need to cast like a dream.
