Looking for comments on Marine Solutions Electronic Oil Injection. http://www.marinesolutionswi.com/ . I have a bad oil pump drive gear on 1993 Mariner 200 Super Magnum. Thanks

I.would say switch.to.premixing or repair the gear

I premix mine don't trust oil injection on older motors.

i agree wit Joe.

remove pump. block off the mounting hole. (merc. has a block off plate. disconnect the wiring to the oil pump,etc.

and pre mix it!! 50:1 should be fine.
will be alot safer!!

check with martin pro or your local merc. dealer for instructions on how to do it, and they can order the plate for ya.

btw.. 9 times out of 10
the failure is the plastic gear drive on the crank shaft causing the failure. very expensive to fix it.

pre mix it!

Thanks for the info, I know mixing is a viable option, I have seen several reference to the EOI system and am interested if anyone has had experience with it. I am bad about wanting to keep things working, but not interested in opening up the motor.

IMHO, oil injection is the biggest crock there ever was. I don't trust any brand. Had the same thing happen on my Mariner. Pre-mix and never look back. It aint rocket science. Pre-mixing was the way it used to be till people got lazy.
