I came across this graph and may need an instructional trip on how to use it to find some brushpiles.

the last two pics came from my neighbor, he gave me two boxes of fishing gear and the tm & reel were in one of the boxes, sad to say he passed away soon after, so I was unable to return it.

Some of the older pros still use those graphs since thats what they are used to, of course they have the modern as well. My dad has these types of graphs on all his boats but i never understood them. They show the depth was the best i could gather from them but sure some of the older generation can tell you more then i can. Now im 44 and never used one myself even though i had a boat with one on it i just bought a modern graph and left yur type of graph turned off since i didnt know how to use it. You may be able to youtube that graph on a instructional video on it

Ah, the old flasher. I used them back when a graph actually burned a roll of paper to show bottom details. Bottom will show a fairly thick mark where as fish and brush will give broken flashes. Go out with some one that has a Humminbird with a "flasher" option and look at some structure. Toggle between the flasher page and down image or 2d and compare the two until you get the hang of it.

I have a Flasher option on my HB. Give me a call if ya want to go out and do like rockhopper suggested. I've never tried it so we both may learn something.

thanks for all the input guys! I doubt i will ever use this thing, I thought it was pretty neat.

As far as the chronarch reel, I'm probably gonna trade it for some crappie gear (i've had a few PM's about it). I got it along with two bags full of BASS gear from my neighbor, I used to take him fishing before he passed.

Tie a small long rope to it and drag it along the bottom until it gets hung in the brush.throw out a marker buoy.
