Update to this issue. Correct as usual Doug! The 8Gb card I had would read properly in the unit and it would read and write properly on my laptop. I bought a new card (4Gb) and put that in my unit and it reads and writes it perfectly. I still have no idea what the issue is with the 8Gb card, but I will just save it for other purposes.

Thanks so much for your suggestions and guidance.

I have a 998.... Does the latest update allow you to put your readouts on the bottom of the screen?
Thanks

Thanks for having this place to ask questions

You would have to have a 898c, 998c or 1198c if you want Side Imaging since those models have the Video Out Port and can send data to another monitor...problem is most waterproof monitors cost close to price of another unit and heard are not sunlight friendly compared to marine electronics...so Etherneting two SI units like 798ci HD and another 798ciHD might be more economical.

Yes each update has it's own identifier so it will only load on the correct unit.

On the Side Imaging Screen Only you can turnout the readouts on the left but that is the only VIEW you can. But that's the most important one to be able since Side Imaging width is the most important other views vertical height is most important.

788ci HD is updateable just create an account and register the SN to your account and you can get the latest update. I would try that first.

On the Side Imaging Full Screen VIEW it will overlay Depth and Temp when you turn them off in Sonar Master Menu. All Other Views they remain on the left side.

This is the SI view with the data boxes turned off with the 800 and 900 series SI units.
ONLY the SI view has this feature and the data is not selectable.

Hey Doug,

I put my friends 998 on my ram mount and ran it on Saturday. His graph worked perfectly and we didn't need to adjust the sensitivity or contrast when changing depths so that tells me that there's nothing wrong with my transducer or battery voltage. Any other ideas why my unit is going very dark sometimes? I have to turn the sensitivity up to 20 and contrast to 16 or so to even make out anything on the screen. Will restore factory defaults correct this? I have been only having this problem after I downloaded the new software update a month or so ago. It worked perfectly before that.

Try restore factory defaults and re-install the latest updates.

Ok, possibly a crazy question, but I can't find it. I have the 597 ci hd di, manual states I have dualbeam plus transducer with 200/83khz. Manual also states that I can choose between the 2 and even split the screen between them. I can't find where the 83 kHz setting is. All mine shows in the menu is 200 and 455 kHz options for sonar. Am I not reading something right?
Thanks in advance.

DI models do not have the 83kHz that is the 2D only versions with Dual Beam Transducer.
