I have been down the same road. I just got rid of my spinning reels and I am saving up for a Daiwa Pixy to fish my finesse stuff.

You should be able to fill the spill to capacity. The only problem is with Flourocarbon unless spooled correctly. It tends to "slinky" off due to the extremem memory most of it has.

Grew up fishing spinning rods. I hardly touch mine now.

I have had similar issues in the past, was always caused by one of two things, both already mentioned here. One was filling the spool too much. Second was using a bait or lure that would spiral without a swivel.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

I followed the tip on the youtube video. Tied a swivel to the line and clipped on a mail box trick. Took it out the next morning and when I flipped the bar about 20 feet of line shot out at my feet. I am going to try braid, if that doesn't work it will be for sale.

If you're fishing from a boat, let the line run off the reel as you motor along slowly (nothing tied to the line). When it's all off you will have a good deal of tension. Reel it back onto the spool and it will untwist naturally.

If you did nothing but open the bail and 20 ft of line falls of the spool,, then you've over filled the spool.

NANOFIL. the most incredible line out there. cabela's has it in 17lb in dark green. academy only goes to 12lb. you will cast a lot further, there is zero memory, extremely strong. yeah, you can get a little twist, but i find that occurs when i cast sidearm. straight out from the top seems to eliminate twisting, which is minimal anyway w/ nanofil. i have replaced several reels that had sufix 832 on 'em w/ nanofil. fished with a buddy thursday and he could not believe it. another bud says he didn't like it in his baitcaster. i think nanofil is for spinning reels, tho.

give it a shot. it'll blow your mind!

Don't put so much line on the reel.

It blew my mind with the number of knots that slipped out, despite tying the reccomended double palamor. It casts like a Porshe but the knot slip issue makes it a no go for me.

The only thing I'd used that NANO-carp line is for when I'm trying to target heartbreak and despair by losing big fish time after time.

My FIRELINE ORIGINAL SMOKE 4 lb. is better comparative with NANOFIL 4 lb. ,so i don't have reason to change my line.
