I definitely love me some jig fishing. That thump on the fall is great. I'm getting addicted to the big topwater bite though - if you've never had a bass crush a lunker punker you are missing out. It could stop your heart!

I love throwing jigs. Sometimes I am trying to force feed them to the fish. LOL
Now I want to learn the art of swim bait fishing.

So what about winter makes it prime time for a jig? And what sorts of structure and cover would you be targeting during the winter?
Many years ago, when I fished TB with my FIL, it seems we targeted the trees next to the creek channels. #PaloGaucho

I had some strange behemoth named Evan O'Brien take me jig fishing on Lake Fork in January a couple years back. Smacked some NICE fishies on a jig pitchin standing timber in creek channels.
I LOVE the thump. . . also, that was one of the first days I recall counting a jig down to the bottom.. and never feeling it hitting bottom.. set the hook and WHAM! Nice slot! I'd never experienced that sensation (no thump bite) prior to that day.

I wish I had more confidence in a jig , it looks very natural in the water . I fished a 3/4 oz football jig all day at Roberts yesterday with no luck . I guess I struggle to pick the right size , weight , color , trailers cuz I rarely catch them on a jig ..I need any tips I can get .

I've never been to Roberts. Did you fish it slow or fast? Try both!!

Thanks EoB, I need the space because Ride or Fish smells kinda funny.
I am ready to throw some jigs. I am going to concentrate on the NuJig that Bo sent to me. I am going to throw that this weekend and hopefully have some sort of a report.

Many years ago, when I fished TB with my FIL, it seems we targeted the trees next to the creek channels. #PaloGaucho Bass are moving from fall to wintering areas and the channels get used like we use roads and highways. I target the stumps and any other shallow cover I can find up on the flats surround the channel swings if I am not fishing the channel itself. Really if you don't have them locked down just drop your TM and keep boat in channel and target anything at the break from flat to channel and eventually if you are lucky a opattern will develop.
