It's time to get the boat out of storage and try to find some Crappie. I have not been out since the Spring. My dad and uncle are coming into town for the Thanksgiving holiday, and they’ve made it clear we will definitely get some fishing in... I know a little bit about 3 lakes, and I'm trying to decide which way to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lavon
Pro's: 30 min's and I'm on the water, I know 3 spots (dam, island, BE cove)
Con's: If fish aren't biting in any of my 3 spots, it's going to be a long day.

Tawakoni
Pro's: 2 bridges that can be really good, a couple of creeks that look like they should hold fish this time of year, monster Crappie when the bite is on
Con: Long drive and I’ve been blanked on this lake far too often.

Fork
Pro’s: Bridges, lots of coves with timber, the dam area. Uncle’s dream lake, he saw big Crappie being caught at Fork on a fishing show and has wanted to fish the lake ever since.
Con’s: Long drive and I’ve only had success in one cove during the Spring a year ago. I’ve fished the bridges and dam area with so-so results

This is most likely my last time out on the water this year, and I want to send pops and my uncle home with a few Texas size Crappie fillets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lavon on the dam has been producing quite well.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!

I guess I have a good excuse to go fishing this weekend.
Got to check out the boat to make sure everything is working okay, so when pops and uncle show up we can focus on fishing.
The wife can't argue with that logic :->

Thanks again!

They all moved to fork,, or lake of the pines...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
