How do people know how bouyant their bait is at depths.I never thought about water pressure and know little about it.It sounds like people are just guessing. Snorkeling gear or finding 20' swimming pools is sounding complicated. Is there a bouyancy equation that equals out to 50lb buff?

I would stay with popup boilies, just try different sizes. I would not use foam because we are wanting to protect the fish. Everything we feed the fish should be safe, and digestable.

PB:
Common 17.15 lbs
Grasser 34.6 lbs
Buffalo 18.60 lbs
Koi 4.3 lbs

Or take up scuba diving. If you really want to find out, perhaps I can take some of your boilies with me the next time I go diving ;-)

I don't think the foam will get eaten if used with boiled deer corn and dumbell shaped boilie stops. My corn rarely comes off when fish are caught and the foam piece could be sandwiched in the middle for extra durability.A turtle might tear it off then a carp or buff might try to eat it but I think they might spit it out. It's great to see angler's looking out for the fish though.

I still have yet to get a buff, I was able to bait em in but they would not even nibble any bait that was presented. I used 2 diff boilies, diff maise, even small cubes and hominy. Dang nab it. Guess I got to get to a fish in and fish next to Nick, he seems to catch all the buffs!

Yep, go to the fish in.the WCC events are definitely the best place to learn.I wish I could make the events, so many experienced anglers to learn from.

Small baits, sharp hooks and a very short leaders along with a running lead. Long leaders will often be blown out through the gills plates leading to gill damage.

How short is short? What leader length gives you the most consistent (and least destructive) hookups on buffalo?
