Thanks for all the great ideas. I tried the idea of putting the trolling motor down and getting after it just couldn't keep on the spot. Also No stumps to tie up to where we were at. Didn't think about the anchor til it was to late. Only had a limited time at the lake and haven't been on it much (Third time) and live 3hrs away. Just covered as much water as I could. Next time plan on staying in this type of area even if I need to anchor.

I drop the power pole and fish, then move a little and drop it again. Of course, I am fishing fairly shallow.

Wind socks work great and don't wear the trolling motor down. I use two of them.
