Mike,

I look at it like this:

I can purchase 100 slabs from the big box's or a few of the other vendors that sell on this forum for $3 a slab = $300 plus tax and shipping

Or, I can buy 100 slabs from you for about $100 (tax and pickup included) PLUS, a GOPro video camera ($199) to DOCUMENT my catch, show everyone where they are, which bait I use and how I fish for them....all for the same price as 100 slabs else where.

I guess I could pay the $300 for the other slabs and post a pic of an under sized Hybrid and tell you that I am "killing them"!

All I know if that I have been using the same SSS slab for the last 10 or so trips and caught well over 700 fish with it. I finally tied on one of your Chieftain's the other day for a change. It has now caught about 50 sandbass, 1 hybrid, 1 crappie and 1 flathead and is still going!

To be honest with you, I hope another vendor reads this and starts selling slabs cheaper than you!

I saw a great thread on another fishing site about how expensive and overkill vinyl painting and clearcoating slabs would be. Everyone advised powdercoating. I'll try to look that up again. Very interesting read. I think a lot of folks on here would enjoy seeing how things are made and what all goes on behind the scenes grin

Thanks Mike for getting a handle on real world pricing. Your products last just fine for me and I use them to make a living thumb

I remember seeing a thread some where else, some lure maker was looking for some one to paint "his" stuff. They advised against it.

I use www.moestackleshop.com baits all the time, slabs, sassy's,and jig heads never had a problem...well maybe a little problem...like this morning my custormers were catching fish so fast on the 1.5 oz Godfather's I didn't have time to hardly make a cast rolleyes ...and I would say that is a very good problem to have!! woot

Mike and Micheal father and son put a whoopin on some Tawakoni Hybrids and sandbass this morning they kept their limit of 10 hybrids and 50 sandbass...no telling how many we released.

Great to see you today, thanks for the depth tip.

I managed to catch a few on a sassy shad from Moes, who'd a thunk it.

Well I'll be quite a discussion on powder verses vinyl . I'm new to TFF but old at tackle tinkering . I used vinyl when it first hit the market . Powder is easy to use for solid colors . But to do fine detail with it requires a High level of experience and good tooling . Powder holds up well but is attacked by soft plastic products unless it is epoxy coated . Should you not believe that just package a powder coated lure with no epoxy in with your favorite soft plastic for a while . Glitters that withstand the heat of powder curing are more expensive for the good stuff . you can't just run to hobby lobby and pick up any old thing . Just a couple points .
Vinyl does take longer to dry , If you don't know how to handle it . Vinyl paint is not for the novice . It requires an expert with the proper equipment . Applied properly it will last till heck freezes over . Is it over kill with an epoxy coat . I think that is a personal choice and decision . If I go after critters with teeth it will be vinyl paint . I personally have no disrespect for either paint . I like them both . Each has special qualities customers of all types like . For powder I use an electro static spray gun . For vinyl I use a special dipping system and an air brush for fine detail . Might add I don't sell lures in a normal sense . For special friends and people i have met I do R&D and custom lures no body else wants to fool with .I enjoy seeing anybodies work and shooting the breeze about tackle craft . So far I haven't seen any bad work done .

You and I can make a positive difference in someones life if only for a moment .

Paint on any lure is kinda overkill anyway..one time I tried to get a lure maker to just sell me Un painted slabs..
Gee,lead is silver..shad are silver..present it properly and they'll bite it..

Most lures are made more to catch fisherman with all the fancy colors and glitter and eye balls etc..

Vinyl vs powder. I don't know one from the other and don't care..give me an inexpensive slab anyway you can and ill buy it all day long !!

If its a matter of paint chipping off, I've got two thoughts on that..

First I don't typically keep slabs long enough for it to matter..we loose em..

Second,if the paint chips that just gives it a little glittery color for free...some of my best slabs ever have been ones with half the paint chipped off...

At moe's prices I can afford to buy more if I want them to look pretty....but it just doesn't matter..
Btw...I got my shipment today of slump busters...gonna break em out tomorrow !!!

Guys I forgot to add this note! This IS NOT a sale or closeout. When Moe closed out slabs they go for $ 0.65-0.75 each!

See ya on Twak next week! GoDucksGo
