I always say that also.. pay it forward, and only once did i have a problem and couldn't get help; I was on Texoma, big motor wouldn't start and I needed to get back to Big Mineral Camp and my trolling motor was barely turning by the time I got about a mile away2 guys roared up near me, started fishing and I asked if they could give me a tow. They said " sorry but we are fishing in a tournament" . That was probably 15 years ago and it still makes my blood boil. I have helped people numerous times, and go out of my way to check out someone that may be in need. i ended up pulling out the paddle!

Been there, done that. Had a battery die on Texoma, guy came by and towed me back to the ramp. Refused to take gas money from me. 1 month later I was back and a guy had engine trouble stuck by the dam. I immediately hooked him up and towed him back to the ramp. He offered gas money and I told him to pay it forward like I just did.

In the past. 4 months I have had the honor of being in the right place to help out several people who got stranded and two weeks ago a had some steering problems and a gentleman from the tff helped me out and refused payment. The Lord blesses those who bless him

I hadn't been fishing in a couple of weeks and got a couple of hours to hit the lake one evening. My and my buddy get out there put the tm down and start fishing. Like 10 min later 6 people in a 70 to 80000$ boat are waving us down. They ran out of gas. I towed them for the last 2 hours of daylight. They handed my buddy a 100$ bill after I asked them not to give us any money. Stopped to help an older gentleman put his boat and trailer back on his truck the other day at amistad. If you're out there somewhere broke down and I see you I will stop.

Thats awesome to hear. I was on Guntersville this past spring when my lower unit went out, I was 1.5 miles away from my launch ramp and the wind was blowing in my face so I asked a guy if I could get a tow in and his response was "no, I don't tow with my boat..." I was beside myself, but just said thank you and have a nice day. Glad to hear my fellow texans are one of a kind.

There is a thread relating to this topic of towing a boat and the downside to towing a dead boat. It mentions damage to the towing boats O/B. A much better solution is to take the dead boats "captain" onboard and taking them to the ramp or refueling station and back to their boat.

Long time bass fisherman, in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, West by God Virginia,Minnesota,Indiana,Canada and now my new home state of Texas.

OK but hows that going to get the "dead" boat back to the ramp so it can be loaded & back home?

I have brought so many folks in that I can't remember how many, rolfmao That's the way I was raised and the way I raised my boys.I've pulled a Large sail boat off Cates point on RR once, that was a tough one that scared the carp outta me.
