Here's the First Video as I test the NEW MinnKota iPilot Link....I can tell you my days with a Cable Steer Trolling Motor are getting numbered! I was really, really shocked at the ease to operate and the Benefits of the iPilot Link System are enough that I may never put a Cable Steer Motor back on the boat....20+ Years of Cable Steer and 1 Day of Electric Steer has me ready to get back on the water for even more testing! http://youtu.be/ffD83Ej9Y9A

Very nice Doug. Are the GPS reading coming from the Humminbird GPS or in the head unit of the Terrova?

The GPS to control the Trolling Motor is from the iPilot Link Controller mounted on the trolling motor.

Ok so if someone has a Terrova/i-Pilot and a Humminbird SI unit already, what will we need to do to get the i-Pilot Link System to work? Would we just need to purchase the i-Pilot Link Sys. and a LakeMaster 2013 card?

Yes. The iPilot Link is a new Control Head for the Terrova that has the Ethernet cable that hooks to the Humminbird plus if they want the Follow the Contour Feature they will need a 2013 LakeMaster Chart that is iPilot Link Compatible which all 2013 Charts will be. If they have a current iPilot they can sell it and replace it with the new iPilot Link System. Pretty simple and very easy to install. I never did one tell I got my motor and was easy to install.

Hey Doug, I've been running with old HB fishfinder for too long. I'm gonna upgrade to the 798ci HD SI combo. My question is can I get a cable or something to "project" screen info to a screen up front while I'm on the TM? I don't have to be able to change settings from the front. Thanks for having this place to ask questions

Santa wants to upgrade my sonars. Thinking about a HB 998si -1198 HD SIcombo for top end . Do I install at dash or trolling motor? If I install at dash, what 2nd unit could I install at trolling motor to show same info to stay on the spot when I leave cockpit to fish at trolling motor? I will basicly be tossing my current sonars, what Units should I be looking for as far as compatiblity without breaking bank? Best Black Friday or Cyber Monday prices?

Brech,
You can link the console unit to the bow mount unit via the ethernet cable. This will allow you to share waypoints/GPS coordinates from one unit to the other.
I can work you up a quote on a unit and accessories if interest. Simply shoot me a PM.

That would be great!Hope you have a Cyber Monday sale?? This will be totally new technology for me. My most recent upgrade was maybe 4 years ago with a Humingbird 727. What do you reccomend to replace the units at trolling motor and dash that I have now? Pretty sure I can't afford 2 higher end HB's, what do you reccomend as 1 higher end and a 2nd one that would be compatable to use at the second location. Which one do I mount at console and which at trolling motor. Since I will be turning my list over to Mrs. Claus, can you also add in everything else I would need to install myself?

I have a 788C and a 998SI. When I download software updates, can the unit identify the correct update if I put both of them on one SD card?
Also, on the 998, the readouts are all on the left side and block some of the screed display. Is there a way to move the readouts to the bottom of the screen?

I have the 788ci Hd on the bow, and it seems to go crazy every 20-30 mins. Starts reading 512 foot and beeping. If I turn it off then back on again it's good for 20 mins or so. Is there something I can do to fix this? Also it came with the boat, so I can't update the software that I'm aware of right?
