We like both fried and grilled for tacos Prefer those halfshell grilled fresh We use a boxed tempura batter with bread crumbs and spices added for the fried fish tacos Gillion ways to make em but anything you like on a homemade taco, you will like on a fish taco. We do always use corn tortillas and cabbage/slaw but, that's just us
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Sautee cubed crappie with taco seasoning, Tony's, garlic, and pepper, squeeze some lime juice in. Cook some rice then fry it (kinda like Asian fried rice) with the same seasonings and lime juice. Serve on a flour tortilla with pico, cheese, and avocado. Tastiness.
No fish is too good for the grease.

Jigum turned me on to Zatarans Crab Cakes and I'm thinking you could break 'em up and use as taco filler. I had to order some from Zatarans as it is hard to find in Wally World. Believe it is like a buck fifty a box. Try the Crappie Cakes too, hard to beat. You can deep fry/bake/etc. How ever you like to cook 'em, they are good!

Grilled with Cavenders Greek Seasoning. Daughter's pico and feta cheese is one of our favorite ways.

I fry my crappie like normal, corn tortillas, lettuce or slaw, cheese and Good Seasonings salad dressing as my taco sauce. That stuff makes them perfect!
I sure miss the stump dodging on Lake Fork...But I'm coming back soon to catchOVER the slot! 👍🏾
