Fall weekend trip planned and going to be windy. Some reports are calling for 15-20 with gusts to 30. How much of the lake will be unfishable due to the wind? We will be fishing out of a 18 and ½ foot boat. Hopefully we can find some fish back in a protected creek.

There are enough ramps on the lake so you can get in a protected area and fish without a long run. They bite just fine in the wind out there.

also fork depends a lot on the direction of the wind, if it's west or sw wind then the west arm doesn't get too bad to run. if it's nw or se wind fish the east arm and you'll be alright. i fish out of a 17 ft progator boat and have spent many 20 mph days on fork. there is plenty of good water on both sides, just check wind direction, scout your map for protected areas and choose your ramp accordingly.

There will be plenty of places to fish. Also, I would expect the fishing to be pretty good with a front passing late in the weekend (if the forecast holds up).
