Answer = Call Joe Read, Matt, or Salsa.

Money well spent.

Wait It's about to get better , but if you want to start catching fish now and not spend a couple of thousand dollars on fuel learning on your own hire one of these guides on the forum. Lake guide seems to always do well and sometimes he has party trips when he's not booked up and he's a nice guy.

+1 on Matt. Tawakoni is going to be turning on soon. But go with a guide and learn your electronics and new techniques. Guides like Matt will show you a lot of different stuff. The smallest change in your technique will have big rewards.

What I do i secretly tie my boat to the back of Matt's and leave 100 yds loose so it's not so obvious. The only problem is he keeps running me through trees:) I'm starting to think it's cheaper to just hire him.

All kidding aside I started fishing with Matt and I still do about once a month so I can keep the patterns straight.

It is money well invested because when you take your own boat you will fish much better.

Wow, this board is getting to be a guild board. Maybe this guy wants to do it on his own. It’s been about 5 months since I have been out there so I can't help but hopefully somebody will toss you a nugget besides a guilds number.

Actually Jimbo, we are just trying to help Mr. Scooter out. We could have given the textbook answers like some do and left him floundering out in the wind but he sounds a bit frustrated and the above was our best effort to help him.

How many times can you tell someone.... "Focus on wind blown points or humps and ledges in 15-25 feet of water" on a lake where you just described about 25 thousand acres. I've been in Scooter's shoes and its not fun to go out there over and over and not catch fish.

Our advice was simply to scrape $100 together and do a party boat trip or rent one of these great fishermen to show you the ropes and save yourself a ton of time and money. $100 doesn't fill my Ranger up once. frown

But there are many ways to catch fish we just gave hour opinions above. To each his own.

Jackson

Ok guys... Calm down...LOL. I appreciate all the help. the guide thing is a great way to learn a lake... fished with guides on Texoma for 20 yrs and I know most of the spots, but even with that said its hard to try all the spots on the one day a month you get to go fishing. Thanks for the the PM's guys and tight lines to everyone.

Thanks again,
Scoot

Most of ours came from the hump just North-East of wrist point. The sandies and hybrids where liking a shiny slab, moved VERY little, off of the bottom.

The striper taken there where on a 3" Soft Shad (Pearl w/Blue back) dead-sticked.

I hope this is what you were looking for...

Hey Scoot,

Did you see the post from Whiskey Bob titled "Tawakoni Video"?

He goes into detail on where he was getting into them the other day.

Good luck!
