At what temp are month of the year do you start fishing the color red bug?

One of my hot weather colors. But I see no reason why it wouldn't work year round.

You should be thinking water clarity, bottom, forage, time of day, cloudy or sunny etc. not month or temp. Good color for stained water.

Good clear water sunny day color I aways keep a pack handy try plum apple on a sunny day as well

Try red or plum when the wind picks up. If the wind is mixing a little more mud than usual into the current, the extra vibrancy of a red color can make a difference in stained water. But I've also seen fish inhale red bug in clear water, so it's really up to you. I would give it a try any time of year, especially if it's a deep red.

Summer months is normally when I throw them. You better have boxes of them if you ever hit a Tennessee River chain lake during the summer months.

Just a bit of trivia: "red bug" used to be called cranapple before they changed it. Well there is my useless bit of information. LOL

I fish it year around. Water clarity makes more of a difference to me, in my opinion.
