Has anyone got experience with using U-40 cork sealer on their rod handles? Don't want to screw up the cork on my Dobyns rods.

Naw,I like the look of fresh clean cork so I think I'll stick to U-40 which is made for fishing rods. I suppose the color from the Tru-Oil is just hiding the dirt and oil from your hands. The cork is still dirty.

I've used it and it works as advertised. I like it because it doesn't change the color much. The cork still looks natural.

Don't look bad. Didn't change the look much at all. I've heard there's one more advantage to U-40 and that is it makes it more durable from nicks.

U-40 Definitely works if you don't like it you can lightly sand, it off. It does change the texture a little bit but not enough to make it not worth it imo.
