for the Thanksgiving week. Any reports on the river or any of the streams and lakes that are close?

I was there over Labor Day weekend. We did not do any fishing because of the big fire in that area this spring put a lot of soot in the streams and the state did not stock any fish.

Thanks for the info. Warm, cold, dry or sooty I plan on wetting a fly somewhere. My wife will want to go to the casino's for four or five hours a day so I plan on dropping her off and relaxing a different way.

Plan on fishing the lake at the INN of the mountain gods.....the local streams and Bonito are pretty much toast from the soot and ash from the fire.

God does not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent fishing.

I am heading there Monday. Let me know if you find water. Best I can find is in Cloudcroft. Too bad you didn't draw an elk tag...had great luck last year and didn't get drawn this year

What have you found at Cloudcroft highfly? Leaving late Tuesday and will get there Wednesday. Sure wish they would dredge out parts of the river that suffered from the flood so us tourists could have some easy fishing.

according to this article- there is some public land, but the best waters are private:
