GUYS I HAVENT BEEN OUT TO THE PARK FOR SCOUTING SO I'M OPERATING FROM MEMORY AND WHAT 'LOOKS' RIGHT ON THE MAPS. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME IF WE NEED TO MAKE CHANGES ON THE FLY!!! 
1. We have to do an off site registration again guys. Check in will be at the Mineral Wells Walmart at 6 AM. MAP
2. We'll leave at 6:30 and head to the park, unload etc... Wait for my start. No exact time on this one. I want to make sure everyone has had a reasonable amount of time to get their yaks unloaded and gear prepped.
3. Weigh in is at 230 at the first picnic area on the east side (NOT the one right next to Penitentiary Gap). I may be changing this, but since I havent been out there and am working from memory, this'll do for now.

PAYOUT: 20% of all fees will go to Big Bass. The remaining will be divided up 60/30/10 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
Everyone's launching from the same spot on this one. Lake is off limits from Monday, November 5 up to start time.
RULES:
-Artificials only (yes you guys can throw the A-Rig if you must)...
-One line in the water at a time, fishing only from kayak...
-Human-powered kayaks and canoes only (sorry tubers if you're reading, but we're trying to promote a kayak bass club)...
-CPR only, identifier in pic, in kayak...
-Best five fish. I give you an identifier that morning. Each pic has the identifier in it or it doesn't count. Winners are determined by combined total length. I ask that the only pics on the card when you turn it in be the five fish (or less) that you want scored.
-MOUTH CLOSED, TAIL NOT PINCHED OR CURLED, like on KBF. Open mouths or pinched and curved tails will receive two inch deductions... Here's an example of how I might score a fish...
mouth closed (LEGAL and good to go)- 16.50
mouth open (penalized 2 inches)- 17.00 - 2.00 = 15.00
I don't have any actual tail-pinch pics since I never take them, but...

well, that may just rule me out. An hour earlier for the check in. Damn I wish we decided these things earlier.
Noone else may say it out loud, but, Getting everyone to sign up a month ago for a 7am check in time then changing it less than a week before the tourny starts sucks.
The new check in place is 6 minutes from the entrance to the park, why are we changing the check in to an hour earlier?

Okay, here are my reasons.
1. I was frankly going to ignore the "no money on the grounds" law and just collect it at the ramp. After some second thoughts, and also talking to park employees, I realized that I just couldn't do that. The money will be awarded to the winners off site just like last time. Fair enough, I should have decided to do it on the up and up from the start. But what would you have me do instead, Steve? Flout the law after talking man to man to the ranger, or maybe just cancel the whole event?
2. When you add in the time it takes for registration off-site AND the fact that sunrise is a little earlier again (due to going off daylight savings time), an earlier registration time was warranted. I anticipate us launching about 20-30 minutes earlier than the original start time...
Sorry if these changes rule you out Steve. You know, when you do one of these types of events, you get a lot of feedback behind the scenes about what needs to happen. One opinion contradicts the next. At some point you just make a decision. I made a decision. You obviously don't like it, so you don't have to attend.

You asked what I would have you do so I am going to reply to that. I would rather you decide from the start not to break the law so we can all plan more than a week in advance for such an early start. Dayylight savings time did not sneak up on us and we all knew it was going to happen when you planned this in October. I guess what I am looking for, and I am guessing that all the folks that won't speak up are looking for, is some planning and sticking to what you plan. No one wants to break the law, i am actually surprised that even entered your mind. As far as expecting the launch to be 20-30 minutes earlier than planned, that speaks to organization as well. Yes right now it will more than likely rule me out and since you told me I am out i guess that will solve that since you are the king. and you earned that [censor] by the way you responded to my feeedback.

First time fishing one of your tourneys so I'm wondering how these CPR tournaments are ran? Is it like the IFA where your memory card is turned in, do we email the pictures somewhere, or is there another way?

the Pms i got this morning from folks feeling the same way about his lack of orginazation tells me i am on track. i wish they would speak up on here but they also don't want to be told they are out.
and calling him an @ss is not uncalled for given his lack of wanting to hear feedback

Tom your doing great job running the events! I appreciate all the time and effort you are putting forward to make this happen. I know you don't get payed a dime for this so I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for doing so. X2 I don't have a problem with the change, I don't need more than a week to make up for that hour time difference. I also don't have a problem with deleting pictures from my memory card, or seeming like a (censored). It's all supposed to be fun, if things bother you so much (TexasSteve) organize your own events. Thanks again tom and ninja for putting these together, and to all the people that show up and want to have fun. It's easy to find a problem with things, but its a better outcome when you just try and have fun.
